Communicating with impact: say less, be heard more

Say less and they’ll hear more.

That was one of the best insights to come out of the Communicating with Impact workshops I used to co-deliver with @Rosemary Howell, a force in strategy and communication.

And it’s always stayed with me.

In a packed agenda full of speakers, the one who gets remembered isn’t the one who says the most.

It’s the speaker who’s structured, considered and makes space for their message to land.

My advice for all speaking situations:

  1. Keep it simple
  2. Consider who your audience is and why your topic matters to them
  3. Be real, I promise you this approach will always have the most impact

Because the best communicators don’t say more.

They say what matters.
