Case study:
MachShip: building market credibility through freight commentary
Market Visibility Workshop
Jocelyn was fantastic to work with well organised and thoughtful in how she approached our content. Jocelyn helped give structure to some ideas we'd been sitting with for a while and the final output has been a useful tool in conversations with customers and partners. It was a smooth process with a very professional approach.
Challenge
MachShip is a centralised freight management solution used by businesses across retail, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and e-commerce. With deep freight expertise and strong market engagement, Director Sam Rowse saw an opportunity: to launch a thought leadership program focused on the realities of the Australian freight industry, making them easier to understand, share and talk about.
There was no shortage of headlines, but nothing that brought the key issues and changing landscape together in one place. Sam wanted to create a resource his team could use with customers and prospects. It needed to be commercially relevant and supported by trends, issues and data that show how the industry is shifting.
Approach
E5 partnered with Sam to develop a freight industry thought leadership document, a structured, insight-led resource grounded in the conversations already happening across the market.
Sam brought the knowledge, perspective and strategic thinking. We provided the structure, research support and writing to turn those insights into a complete, ready-to-publish document that reflected MachShip’s expertise and commercial focus.
It was designed for practical use across multiple touchpoints:
- A tool for loyalty and retention conversations
- A reason to engage prospective clients
- A resource that captures and communicates the state of the freight industry
Impact
Released in 2024, the freight snapshot is now in active use across the business. It’s a leave-behind, a conversation starter and a practical resource designed to be read and shared.
Importantly, its relevance extends beyond MachShip. The piece has been acknowledged as a meaningful contribution to the freight conversation in Australia.
“It’s great to see such valuable insights being shared with the entire logistics community. Making this information accessible is a fantastic move.”
