Your Next Move for leaders leaving corporate

You used to be work famous.
Then you left.

Your title opened doors. People returned your calls. Now you’re doing the chasing.

The consulting work, board roles and introductions you expected have been patchy. The reputation you spent 15-20+ years building seems to have stayed behind with your security pass.

I help senior leaders move that reputation into consulting, without becoming an influencer or looking desperate.

Work with me in one of three ways:

The part nobody warns you about

You didn’t expect to miss being important.

Inside corporate, people came to you. Now you’re following up.
Your network says lovely things. Nobody sends work.
You know you need to be seen. You’d rather disappear than look desperate.

And every quiet month asks a blunter question.

1

Your title introduced you

Now you have to explain why you matter.

2

You spent 20 years speaking corporate

Buyers want to know what problem you can solve for them.

3

Inside corporate, people knew what you could do

The people buying consulting work have no idea.

4

Work arrived on your desk

Now you have to give people a reason to bring it to you.

5

You used to know where you stood

Now the work isn’t coming and nobody tells you why.

Create influence without becoming an influencer.

You don’t need daily opinions, fake certainty or a LinkedIn style that isn’t yours.

Most visibility advice starts with what to post. I start with the person.
I work out what someone should call you for, why they should choose you and how to say it in words that still sound like you.

I make reluctant leaders visible without making them someone else.

Who it's for

Still deciding, just out or a year in?

Different timing, same problem. Wherever you are, I’ll get you moving.

Still deciding.

Employed, running the numbers, telling nobody. The best time to do this, and almost nobody does.

Just out.

Your network knows you’ve left. They’ve no idea what to send you.

A while in.

Busy enough to feel OK. Not growing. Every job so far came through someone who already knew you.

Proof

Her phone
rang.

Melinda already had the reputation and the relationships. My work was making what she’s doing now much easier to see.

Then someone she hadn’t spoken to in 12 years called. They already knew she was good. What they hadn’t known was that she was now consulting in exactly the area they needed.

Not because she shouted louder. Because the right person knew what to call her for.

“Jocelyn quickly understood what I was trying to do, my goals and my message, and translated it into something clear and usable.”

I came second 5 times

Jocelyn Robinson, marketing strategist, Elevate Five

I left a Head of Marketing role at ISPT, a $23B property trust, expecting to walk into another corporate job.

5 times I got to the final 2. And 5 times they picked the other candidate.

9 months in, I had to admit the job market had changed.

I’d been doing bits of consulting. Favours mostly, partly to keep busy. I hadn’t planned to make a business of it.

Then it was time to be in or out. I chose consulting.

I know what this move does to your confidence when the market stops responding to you the way it used to.

I also know how to move your work fame into a business of your own, with minimal damage to your ego.

As for what I don’t miss about corporate life, we can have that conversation privately.

The path

How to work with me. Start wherever you are.

Step 1. Find the gap. $23

A live working session. 55 minutes. You leave with 3 actions you can use straight away.

Why someone should call you

What’s getting in the way

The 3 things to do first

Tues, 13 Oct, 11.00am AEDT.

Tues, 27 Oct, 2.30pm AEDT.

Thurs, 12 Nov, 2.00pm AEDT.

Pick whichever suits, it’s the same session and takeaways.

Worksheet included. Everyone gets the recording, live or not. 40 minutes of work, 15 of questions, no pitch.

Step 2. 90 minutes, all about you. $295

90 minutes, 1:1.

100% focused on you and your next move.

We start solving from minute 1: what someone should call you for, what’s getting in the way and what to do first.

You leave with a plan and a clear view of the support you need.

Step 3. Make the distance visible. From $450

Individual projects, done for you. Select as many as you need: LinkedIn repositioning, capability summary, consulting one-pager, landing page or your proof and stories pulled out and written up.

Start with $23. Work with me 1:1. Hand me the lot. I don’t mind.

I do mind your old job getting all the credit while your consulting business stays invisible.

Questions

I haven't left yet. Is this too early?

It's the best possible time. Do this while you're still employed and you arrive with a position instead of building one in public with no income behind you. You'll be ready on day 1.

I've been consulting for years. Is this for me?

Probably not this one. If you're established and working on your next offer or a wider repositioning, that's different work and I do plenty of it. Contact me and we'll sort that out instead.

Do I have to post every day?

No, and posting every day isn't the goal. Start by making sure your profile explains what you do now, your network can repeat it back in a sentence and there's enough current proof to back it up. What you publish after that is a choice, not a requirement.

I'm already a year in. Is this too late?

No, and you're usually the person this pays off fastest for. You've got real proof now. You just haven't pulled it out and put it where anyone can see it. That's a job, not a rebuild.

Can I skip the session and start with the
real work?

Yes. Step 2 and Step 3 are entry points,
not upgrades. Contact me and tell me
which one you want.

Haven't set the business up yet?

Doesn't matter. What you want to be known for comes before the ABN, not after.
